Beck's Art Label by Greg Coulton
October 8, 2018
Illustrator Greg Coulton was handpicked by Beck's to be one of six artists to create a bespoke art label for the beer brand. With an open brief 'BeKreativ' Greg designed and hand drew this incredible design for his label. Drawing inspiration from the fact that only Water, Barley, Hops and Yeast are used to make Beck's he considered 'what else follows a similiar rule of purity through limited ingredients?' His answer - organic life. Nature, both flora and fauna are recurring themes in Greg's work and using Victorian foliage he created a 'Tree of Life' containing specimens from all 6 major classifications of animals, birds, fish, reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates.
Ten million limited edition bottles will be rolled out across UK retailers, pubs and bars. Available from now until early December. The Arts Label project has been going for over 25 years and includes work from Gilbert & George, Tracey Emin, Jeff Koons and Damien Hurst to name a few. Greg is in excellent company!
