Dwell Magazine Illustrations by R. Fresson

Illustrator R Fresson created two illustrations for Dwell Magazine on the McMurdo station in the Antarctic.
"How do you solve a problem like McMurdo? A hundred structures at the foot of an active volcano, perched next to a frozen sea, McMurdo Station was originally built to support human life in the planet’s most hostile conditions with a two-year lifespan in mind. It just turned 63. This aging compound is the primary logistical facility for the pursuit of science in Antarctica and at the South Pole. Without it our ability to understand our planet and its fragile ecosystem is threatened."
