Portuguese Paper Penguins
April 2, 2015
JSR's paper engineer Lydia Shirreff was approached by still-life and food photographer Jonathon Gregson to collaborate on this incredible series of images for the latest edition of bi-annual travel and style magazine Cereal.
Sitting with a piece on the Portuguese language, Lydia used her paper prowess to illustrate the ongoing debate between subtleties such as pingüim and pinguim, aspecto and aspeto and génio and gênio. Taking the linguistic article to task, Jonathon and Lydia brought a modern editorial twist to the piece by capturing these breathtakingly beautiful images, using fresh backdrops and simple sets to punctuate the author's arguments.
