Stuart chose the dress Lorraine wears after a delightful tour through her collection, which incorporates many wonderful outfits from her extensive and varied career. Every spectacular dress coming with its own equally spectacular story. This particular dress was first worn by Lorraine thirty years ago for the finale of ‘Me and my girl’ at the Adelphi Theatre in London’s West End. Lorraine’s house is a treasure trove of eclectic accoutrements and Stuart had a wonderful time exploring her extensive collection to chose the accessories.
Lorraine shot to fame in the 70’s and has remained a household name ever since. She has starred in sitcoms, soaps and west end shows, as well as some favourite Pantomimes, where many of her stunning collection of outfits come from. She and Stuart have become firm friends through the planning and production of this photograph and it has been a thoroughly enjoyable process. In her own words, ‘we’re mates’ and doing the portrait was a ‘blooming good idea’.
