Graphic designer and illustrator, Carla Lucena creates stylish vector illustrations in dreamy soft textures and pastel colours which sets her apart from other artists. This vintage inspired style has won her some accolades – winning both the Lürzers Archive 200 Best Illustrators 2016/17 and Crooks Press Best Illustrators 2017.
Her design career began by working for Ogilvy and Mather and McCann Erickson Worldwide in art direction but she soon discovered that her preferred creative language was illustration and so focused her energy on creating stunning images for campaigns as a freelancer. She has since worked for Leo Burnett, BBH, 1000 Heads, Sunday and Cedar London to name a few. She can also be found as an Art Direction and Design Teacher at the Miami AD School.
Carla has created campaigns for British Airways, EMI Records, Gore-Tex, The Sunday Times, P&O Cruises, The London Magazine, beIN Sports, Cafes la Estrella and Philpe Morris and been featured in Yorokobu Magazine, It’s Nice That, Factor N Magazine and Typography Served.
